Privacy Policy

Basal is designed with privacy as a priority. Your financial data is stored locally on your device by default. Cloud sync is optional and your data is never sold or shared with third parties.
1. Information We Collect
Basal collects and stores the following data:
- Account information (email, display name) when you create an account
- Expense entries including names, amounts, frequencies, categories, and custom tags
- App preferences and settings
- Activity history (expense additions, edits, deletions)
By default, all data is stored locally on your device. If you enable cloud sync, this data is securely stored in our cloud infrastructure.
2. How We Use Your Information
Your data is used solely to provide expense tracking functionality. We do NOT sell your data, use it for advertising, share it with external services, or collect analytics about your spending habits.
3. Data Storage
Local Storage: All data is stored locally using secure device storage, only accessible by the App on your device.
Cloud Storage: If you enable cloud sync, your data is stored securely in Supabase with row-level security. Data is encrypted in transit and at rest.
4. Data Export
You can export your expense data as a CSV file at any time through Settings > Export Data.
5. Data Deletion
You may delete individual expenses at any time, or delete your account and all associated data through Settings. Once deleted, your data cannot be recovered.
6. Security
Security measures include biometric authentication (Face ID / Touch ID), secure credential storage, encrypted data transmission, and row-level security in our cloud database.
7. Third-Party Services
If you enable cloud sync, we use Supabase for secure data storage and authentication. We do not integrate with any advertising or analytics platforms.
8. Children's Privacy
This App is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time and will notify you within the App.

1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using Basal (the "App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service.
2. Description of Service
Basal is a personal finance application that calculates your daily, weekly, monthly, and annual spending by analyzing recurring costs such as subscriptions, bills, and regular purchases.
3. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
4. User Data
Your expense data is stored locally on your device by default. You retain full ownership of your data and can export or delete it at any time.
5. Subscription Tiers
The App offers a free tier and paid Pro/Lifetime tiers. Subscription terms, pricing, payment processing, and refunds are handled through the Apple App Store.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the App only for lawful purposes and not to misuse or interfere with its proper functioning.
7. Accuracy of Information
The App provides calculations based on the data you enter. It is intended for informational purposes only and should not substitute for professional financial advice.
8. Modifications to Service
We reserve the right to modify or discontinue the service at any time, with or without notice.
9. Limitation of Liability
The App is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages resulting from your use of the service.

The App and its content are owned by Mildly Serious and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
